First Carnival

Tom and I took Andrina to her first carnival tonight. It was gorgeous weather and Andrina loved riding on the train and bears. Those were the only two rides that she could go on. The safest kiddie rides but she loved it. Unfortunately we forgot the camera so we don't have any pictures. We'll get pictures next time!

Some New Food

Tonight I wanted Japanese steak for dinner. So I got it and decided that's what Andrina would have for dinner too. She ate filet mingon, teryaki chicken, fried sticky rice, and sesame seasoned vegetables with me. And she loved it! I'm so glad I decided to have her try it instead of making some kid-friendly food like scrambled eggs with cheese or mac & chesse just for her.

Gross but Funny

Tonight while we were eating dinner, Andrina let out a long, very audible fart. She laughed and said "fartty" then pointed at Tom and said "Da Da"! Tom and I thought that was too funny and poor Tom, he was saying to Andrina that it wasn't even him who farted! She's not even two years old yet and she knows how to blame her Daddy for farting when it was her! Ha ha ha!!!

21 Months Old

Andrina is 21 months old today! I can't believe that in only 3 months she'll be 2 years old! Where did all the time go?

Happy Easter!

Andrina had her first egg hunt today! She did do one last Easter with Anne but Andrina was only 8 months old at the time and could not walk so she really didn't "find" any eggs. This year I put out candy filled plastic eggs (courtesy of Godmomma Becca) for Andrina to find. She didn't quite get it at first when I was telling her to find the eggs and put them in her basket. Of course I had to show her the first one on the ground and she picked it up, looked at it and shook it, and smiled when she heard it make a noise. She quickly caught on to put it in her basket and get more eggs. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Andrina enjoyed it much more than I thought she would. She really liked collecting the eggs and shaking them. When she had gotten all the eggs in her basket, she sat down to play with them some more. She was thrilled to find that the opened up and there was candy inside them! Andrina just kept opening the eggs and playing with them. This was another one of those times when I was just so full of joy to see the world through her eyes. Such a simple pleasure of childhood and I am so happy that my child was able to enjoy it.

The only down-side of the egg hunt was when it ended. Poor Andrina, like any self-respecting toddler she threw a tantrum when I tried to bring her inside the house! She enjoyed gathering her eggs and putting them in her basket and playing with them so much-of course she was angry when I tried to end her fun! But she got to play with them more inside the house.

As for the rest of Easter, Doreen was able to come over in the morning and I made brunch for all of us since she had to work this evening and couldn't share Easter dinner with us. And Doreen and I cooked and baked while Andrina napped until she needed to leave for work. And Andrina played with her new toys and books from the Easter Bunny too. Overall a wonderful holiday spent at home!

"Colors"

Yesterday Andrina told me for the first time that she wanted to color. She's colored before but I've always been the one to iniate it. Thankfully she was pointing at crayons while saying "colors" so I was able to figure it out eaisly what she wanted. So we colored at home together in the morning and then twice at the children's museum in the afternoon and evening. And today she has already colored once. We were all in the kitchen this morning and she was telling Tom "colors" (which is not pronounced exactly like an adult would say it). Tom had no idea what she wanted the word was that garbled! But I let him know that she's saying "colors" and wants to have her crayons and paper. So she colored yet again today. Here's some cute photos from yesterday morning:

Children's Museum

Here's some more pictures from Andrina's latest trip to the children's museum. We've gone several times, like a dozen, since last July and most times I forget to take the camera but I remembered on the last trip. She's developed so much and it's really evident in her activities there. She can do more than she used to and has tried many new activities this time too.
Making bubbles
Water play
Making music on the steel drums
Painting with light in the dark room (it's lit here from the camera flash)
Getting creative with the giant lite-brite board & glow sticks
Arranging colored shapes on the light board
Playing with abstract puzzles
Painting with water

"What Does This Say"

Reading to Andrina before bed tonight, I swear she formed her first real complete sentence. But she's supposed to be too young to do that, right? Anyways, she pointed at a sentence in her book and said "whaz dis say" or "what does this say"? Apparently my 20-month old child's grammar is better than mine as evidenced by this post!
