Andrina had her first egg hunt today! She did do one last Easter with Anne but Andrina was only 8 months old at the time and could not walk so she really didn't "find" any eggs. This year I put out candy filled plastic eggs (courtesy of Godmomma Becca) for Andrina to find. She didn't quite get it at first when I was telling her to find the eggs and put them in her basket. Of course I had to show her the first one on the ground and she picked it up, looked at it and shook it, and smiled when she heard it make a noise. She quickly caught on to put it in her basket and get more eggs. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Andrina enjoyed it much more than I thought she would. She really liked collecting the eggs and shaking them. When she had gotten all the eggs in her basket, she sat down to play with them some more. She was thrilled to find that the opened up and there was candy inside them! Andrina just kept opening the eggs and playing with them. This was another one of those times when I was just so full of joy to see the world through her eyes. Such a simple pleasure of childhood and I am so happy that my child was able to enjoy it.

The only down-side of the egg hunt was when it ended. Poor Andrina, like any self-respecting toddler she threw a tantrum when I tried to bring her inside the house! She enjoyed gathering her eggs and putting them in her basket and playing with them so much-of course she was angry when I tried to end her fun! But she got to play with them more inside the house.
As for the rest of Easter, Doreen was able to come over in the morning and I made brunch for all of us since she had to work this evening and couldn't share Easter dinner with us. And Doreen and I cooked and baked while Andrina napped until she needed to leave for work. And Andrina played with her new toys and books from the Easter Bunny too. Overall a wonderful holiday spent at home!
