Stomach Bug

It seems that Andrina caught the stomach bug that has been going around. She woke up three times last night because she vomited. All over. Which, if you are a parent, you know how that is to comfort a child who is crying because she puked all over herself, as well as to clean up. I thought at first it was post-nasal drip from her cold last week that triggered the vomiting. But she did it again after breakfast this morning so I had to call up April and cancel her plans to come over for a play date. They were already about half-way here which I feel bad about that I didn't cancel a little sooner. Poor Anne was upset that she couldn't come over to play but we rescheduled for next Wednesday so hopefully my little girl will definitely be better by then!

My Little Snugle Puppy

One of Andrina's favorite books lately is Sunggle Puppy. When we first started reading it, I told her that there was a mommy dog and her baby dog on the cover. Now when we read it, she always points to the dogs and says, "momma" and "baby". Well, tonight when she did this she pointed to the mom and baby and said that, then turned to me, touched my chest and said, "you're Momma, I love you Momma". I almost burst into tears right then and there it was another one of those perfect moments.

Special Hello Kitty

Yesterday Andrina and I met up with Becca. We had lunch and Becca took Andrina shopping for her Christmas presents. Yes, it's pretty late after Christmas but I know Becca has been working 7 days a week since the fall to get her business up and running. One of the gifts Andrina chose was a Hello Kitty doll at Build a Bear. They stuffed it together so it is a special toy from her Godmomma. Well, Andrina loves it! She had to have it with her when she went to sleep last night and she's been playing with it today too. I'm so happy that Andrina really seems to like it because it is such a special toy from her Godmomma.

2 and 1/2 Years Old!

Andrina is 2 and 1/2 exactly today! My baby is turning into a little girl!

My Smart Baby

Andrina never ceases to amaze me. She has learned so much in such a short amount of time. I have actively worked with her on reading and she knows about 200 words. However, other knowledge she's picked up on through just being herself. She knows all of her colors, shapes, body parts, can count to 16, and recognizes most numerals just from going to preschool twice a week and watching some educational shows every day. Tom bought her a DVD off of eBay that she loves called Puppy Dog. I, personally, can't stand this DVD so I never play it for her. I find the characters in it extremely annoying so Tom plays it for her sometimes when I'm out doing errands. The DVD goes through all the letters and she's watched it several times but honestly, I don't think she's watched it since before Thanksgiving.

To made a long story short, this afternoon Andrina took apart her wooden name puzzle and told me what all the letters were in her name as she put it back together. She knew both the upper and lower-case "A" and all the other letters in her name. I am so proud.

no photos

i am going to lose my mind. for the past month, i have been unable to upload photos. after weeks of being on the phone with hughes net and taking my computer in to geek squad, I thought the problem was fixed. I can upload a photo with my net book but not with my main computer where all my photos are stored. This main compter was able to do it at the store but not at home but the other computer can do it at home. I don't know where the problem is, either my hard drive or hughes net. either way i'm sure i'll just get more run-around and i have not been able to upload any photos for a month now. i am so incredibly frustrated at this.

1st Pee-Pee in Potty?

Andrina has been sitting on the potty, sporatically, for a few months now. This morning she said she wanted to go to the potty so I held her on the regular toilet (we were upstairs and the potty chair was downstairs). I thought I heard a few drops but looking in the toilet afterwards, it was impossible to tell and Andrina would not let me wipe her with toilet paper so I'm not sure if she actually peed in it or not. Oh well...

A Great Start to 2010

While in the shower, I hear Tom and Andrina come into the bedroom and bathroom. Tom tells Andrina that I'm taking a shower and she runs towards it, excidely yelling, "Mamma, Mamma, Mamma"! Awww, such a sweetness to behold, my child wanting to be with her Mamma after her nap! So we talked about how adults take a bath in the shower and that we'd play when I was done. It is so nice to know, again, how much my baby loves me!
