Original Johnson's

I always thought I would use fancy, expensive baby bath products. And I have bought and used some. My sister April bought me Burt's Bees baby shampoo as one of many shower gifts from her. I used it when Andrina was a newborn and it was a great baby shampoo. I really did love it. I was going to buy some more of it several months ago but I noticed it was $8 a bottle! That was really expensive and I didn't have a coupon for it (p.s., wow, April, I'm impressed!). So I decided that if I ever get a coupon for it, I'll buy it again but alas, I have not come across a coupon for it.

Then I had some samples of DHC baby products. They were ok but I'm not overly impressed with them. I probably won't buy those.

The last fancy or expensive baby products I used were Aveeno Baby. I think I got them in February. They were on clearance at Target in a gift set, and I had a coupon. So I got a bottle of baby shampoo, lotion, diaper rash cream, and a washcloth for about $11 with the clearance price and the coupon. They were pretty nice and I used up the shampoo already and I have used the lotion. It was great on Andrina's poor winter-dry skin. It really helped clear up the redness so I will save the rest of the lotion for next winter for her.

I have used the Bedtime Bath and Bedtime lotion by Johnson & Johnson. They do smell really nice with a lavender scent to them and I'll probably buy more of those too someday.

But the baby products I'm really liking are the original Johnson & Johnson products. I had a coupon for $2 off any Johnson's gift set and several others for $1 off each. Those ones are in the Sunday paper all the time. So I was able to use $4 worth of coupons for one gift set that had a lot of stuff in it. Well, I'm loving how Andrina's hair smells after I wash it with their original baby shampoo. And I love how her skin and my hands smell after I massage their original baby lotion on her. I'm sure it has a lot to do with how those products just make her (and my hands) smell like a baby. Like that newborn baby smell that now she's an older baby she just does not have anymore. So, long story short, I love the way she smells like a new baby after bath and massage time now. So I think I'll stick with the original Johnson's baby products for awhile.

I'm glad you found something that works! Isn't if funny how we moms figure things out like that then stick to it and defend our products. Like they are gold to us. I loved using the Burts Bees when she was little. I started using it when she developed cradle cap around 6 months old or something. I felt like maybe there were chemicals in the other stuff that would aggravate it. When I used the BB I could actually feel a difference in the suds than the other stuff so that convinced me there was something different about it. And yes, really expensive, but my thought is that it takes her several months to use it up so even though it's $8, it's spread out over like 3-6 months so it's ok. If she was using it up in a month, then no.

I also have come to find out I only like the Johnson's smelly bath stuff as opposed to the generic brand. I've always liked walmart's version of things so I usually buy that. I bought the bedtime bath in that brand and it had no where near the amount of smell as Johnson's. One of my all time favorites though is the Johnson's cold care bubble bath. It has rosemary and eucilipsis in it which helps unstuff a nose. I use it when I'm sick too!

Alright, a long enough post on bath products! :)

LOL! That is so funny! But you know what, you are so right. When it comes to our babies, even bath products play the upmost importance! Yeah, The BB you gave me lasted about 5 months and I still have a tiny bit left. I didn't want to use it all up since I used it on Andrina's newborn hair. Only us moms can get so sentimental over baby shampoo!

Me too! I also use the Johnson's vapor bath when Andrina has a cold. And the bedtime bath and lotion smell so nice too! I think I'll go back to those ones when Andrina is more of a "big girl". I'm at the point where I'm really missing the newborn phase and being able to smell her with that scent is so comforting to me. I'm too sentimental I guess.
