Elmo Detox

After I blogged last night and mentioned how much Elmo we're letting Andrina watch, Tom asked me how much longer we were going to let her keep watching hours of it a day! I told him that I expected her to be much better today and that we'd go back to only an hour a day if she is. Well, Andrina is definately feeling better today. Last night was the first night in a week that she slept through the entire night. She even ate breakfast this morning! Two occurances that show she's feeling better. So this morning I've been reading to her and playing with her but we have not watched any Elmo.
She did ask for Elmo and this is what happened when I said "no":
Then she wanted to be held and went to this:

Overall, we've avoided Elmo this morning. Andrina is feeling better but she's still pretty needy. She's wanted to be held about a dozen times so far. And she's sitting on my lap with her fingers in her mouth right now.

Ohh! I always gotta laugh at how dramatic babies and toddlers can be-if only our problems were so easily fixed right? Try getting her out of the house or do something totally different w/ play for her. At that age, I remember getting a big tub for Anne and filling it w/ cheap (uncooked) macaroni noodles. She had fun playing with those with cups and spoons and stuff (sort of a mini indoor sandbox). We also used the same tub, filled it w/ water, added some food coloring to the water to make it more fun and let her splash and use cups and stuff to play in that water (indoor water table). Both were a bit messy, but it was something fun and new for her and held her attention a bit. Good luck thinking of things to keep her occupied and mind off Elmo!

I remember your blog about that. I've been thinking of getting the cheap Aldi noodles for $1.69 for two pounds and trying that. And maybe some dry pinto beans too since pintos are so cheap! She's getting better with her Elmo viewing being only an hour a day again. I think she was just still cranky in general yesterday. She did MUCH better today!
