"Poo"
Sometimes my kid amazes me. This morning I got a wiff of her stinky diaper. When I smell it, I always ask her if she made poo-poo to encourage her to be aware of having gone and needing a diaper change. I know she's still very young to realize that she's gone but today she knew. As soon as I smelled it and before I got the chance to ask her about it, Andrina looked me in the eye, touched her butt, and said "poo". Amazing, my 18 month-old knew that she went poo! It might be time to introduce her to the little potty chair soon. Although I'm sure that complete potty-training is at least a year away, this has got to be a milestone.

I think that was the age we "started" too. Letting her sit on the potty and talking to her about it. I think our big focus was letting her see our poo poo and pee pee in the potty, saying goodbye to it and letting her know that was actually where it belonged (ie, not in a diaper). But, yeah, a good year later-more than that actually 15 months-before she was ready to be trained.
